AI-Assisted Analysis of Mammography Images
An AI-based image analysis study for classifying mammography images using deep learning and visualizing model decisions with Grad-CAM.
This study was developed by Dr. Ozan Önal to investigate the analysis of mammography images using artificial intelligence and image processing methods.
The images used in the study were not directly collected by the researcher, and no patient data were obtained directly from any hospital or healthcare institution. The dataset used in the project was obtained through the Kaggle platform.
The primary objective of the project was to investigate the application of image processing and artificial intelligence methods to mammography images and to experimentally evaluate their use in image analysis.
As part of the project, the images were prepared for artificial intelligence-based analysis, appropriate image preprocessing and data preparation procedures were applied, and experimental studies were conducted on computer-assisted analysis of mammography images.
A user interface was also developed to facilitate interaction with the system and examination of the resulting outputs. The interface was designed to allow images to be submitted to the system, processed through the analysis workflow and presented to the user in a visual form.
Data Source and Use
The image data used in this project were obtained through the Kaggle platform. The data were not created or directly collected by Dr. Ozan Önal. No new patient data or personal health information were directly obtained from any healthcare institution as part of this project.
The data were used for experimental research and model development involving artificial intelligence, image processing and medical image analysis.
Important Notice: This project was not developed for medical diagnosis, clinical diagnosis or treatment decision-making. It is an experimental software and research study investigating the application of artificial intelligence and image processing methods to mammography images.
